Reduce glare
Reading from a computer screen is stressful enough, and adding glare into the equation takes stress to a whole new level. It makes reading, specifically small text, a real chore. The cause is mostly natural light, which comes in through the windows, or bright office lights. This can be rectified by using window blinds or turning off some of the lights in the office. Last but not the least, you can also fit an additional anti-glare screen on your monitor.
Modify display settings
This is something which requires minimum effort. If your computer screen is too bright or too dim, tinkering with the display settings can make a big difference to your eyes. Try adjusting the brightness and contrast levels for a setting that suits you best.
Keep distance
Ensure that the screen is not too close, as this will result in your eyes straining even more to focus. The optimal placement of the monitor should be below your eye level and at a minimum distance of 20 inches from your eyes.
The 20-20-20 rule
Give your eyes a break and follow this rule. It advises you to look away from the monitor every 20 minutes, gaze upon an object 20 feet away, and look at it for 20 seconds. Doing this simple exercise will help your eyes relax and readjust their focus.
